Light, Illumination, Electricity is the launching project of the artists-in-residence program of SantralIstanbul, a comprehensive, participatory and interdisciplinary international platform for culture, education and arts, led by Istanbul Bilgi University.

Involving the transformation of the city's first power station Silahtaraa Power Plant into a cultural and educational center, SantralIstanbul aims to be a new source of energy for production and distribution of art and knowledge through a program of collaborative and interdisciplinary projects and activities.

City's first power station Silahtaraa

This residence programme aims to open up different avenues for exploration, talks by prominent art historians and curators will be focused on the theme of light, electricity and illumination as well as workshops by artists working with light as a medium or as a metaphor. The residence programme will conclude with an exhibition of the works of the resident artists. The exhibition will be documented by a catalogue.
