We are informing you about the exhibition project of art group KOLEKTIVA, co-organized by Vesna Bukovec, SCCA-Ljubljana's webmaster.

In the sixth Video Evening KOLEKTIVA is presenting a selection of videos from Cultural Incubator’s (Maribor, SI) monthly events that combine food and visual image. At the screening artist/curator Aleksandra Saška Gruden will prepare freshly mixed fruit & vegetable juices.

Video Dinner (Video večerja) is monthly based, multi-event project that takes place in Cultural incubator in Maribor.
Invited artist introduces a starting video projection based on a certain topics and then gives it the additional meaning by active cooking (on a spot).
Video dinner is entirely individual artistic accession of chosen artist and derives from his/hers personal relationships, thinking, interests… It can be the answer to his recent artistic research, or an in-sight into his previous practice. The author can focus on different details like color, shape, meaning, taste, content, look… and, enriched with culinary art, represents his/hers video work.
The intention of Video Dinner is to connect the visual (video) and culinary art (food), to attract public which usually doesn’t visits such places as galleries, or art events. It wants to introduce quality artist of different generation, background and art expression from Slovenia and abroad in galleries (or other places). It wants to create an informal way of socializing through this necessary ever-day feeding proces and delivering in this way an artistic and visual information as well.

About the curator

The visual artist Aleksandra Saška Gruden is working for several years in area of video, performance and installation. During this time she has organised and lead numerous art symposiums, most of them in Croatia. She was the leader of PERFORMA festival in Maribor. In the last two years she has been in charge of Culture Incubator’ s progammes Video Dinner and Hyperfaçade. Recently she’s also leading a part of the programme inside the International Festival of Computer art (Mobile Introductions /Mobilne predstavitve).
