BEWARE! STILL LIFE!
Bratko Bibič & The Madleys feat. Otto Lechner

Concert

Wednesday, 07. December 2011, at 9pm
Kino Šiška, Trg prekomorskih brigad 3, Ljubljana

Accordionist, vocalist and composer Bratko Bibič presents the still life for instruments, vocals and a gunshot. We are glad that SCCA Project Room was a temporary "shelter" for the rehearsals of the band.

Accordionist, vocalist and composer Bratko Bibič and his principal band The Madleys (Vasko Atanasovski, Boštjan Gombač, Uroš Polanc and Matjaž Sekne), as well as the Vienna-based accordionist, vocalist and composer Otto Lechner and other guest musicians present the unique avant-tourist “cinema-narrative”, poly-metric fusion of heterogeneous rural and urban folk music, jazz, rock, contemporary chamber and improvised music from here and there, to be staged in Katedrala Hall of Kino Šiška.
The prominent, individual original music of the “eccentric” Bratko Bibič will be integrated in abundance with vocalisations and computer-based manipulations of the vaudeville heritage, futurist and Dadaist sound poetry as well as long moments of silence amidst the artificial merrymaking comprised of bird song and laughter, weep and cough, chatter and dance, which can only be interrupted by a gunshot.

Dedicated to restless times and spaces.

The damage and profits of participants on both sides of the barrier shall be collateral.

Guests:

  • Irena Tomažin, vocal
  • Sašo Vollmaier, piano
  • Klemen Hvala, cello
  • Tibor Kerekeš, trumpet

Co-production: Zavod Alcedo and Kino Šiška
Supported by: Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, Austrian Cultural Forum
