Liminale on Poletna scena, RTV SLO, July 5, 2013

OFFTIR is an artists association with two main focuses: OFF operates with a visual production and TIR with a sound one. They have been collaborating on different levels already in the past and a kind of cohesive thread of their artistic language could be described as the thematizing of the current conditions for participation in the production of culture and the articulation of their ideas about art, current situation of an artist in the art system and in the scheme of quality of life. In their modes of operation the DIY (do it yourself) and DIWO (do it with others) principles prevail and are obvious in the way how they collaborate, communicate, connect their various knowledge and get self-organized. They also tend to invite visitors of their projects to actively participate; they address them to form their own opinion towards exhibited objects and towards them, the artists themselves. Their relation towards authorship is also worth mentioning: namely, they don't bother about any particular artistic expression; they rather sign the projects under a collective authorship.

OFFTIR

For Studio 6, the OFFTIR prepared a complex project. As the artists actively relate their various knowledge – from the field of sculpture, graphics, painting, set design, as well as history of art, art theory, sociology and philosophy – their projects are built on the basis of the versatile artistic practices. Considering the context of Metelkova – an autonomous culturalcentre in Ljubljana – and SCCA Project Room – the space inseparably linked to Studio 6 – they have prepared a project which would create a dialogue with the very space of the SCCA Project Room as well as with the concept of the Studio 6 and its recent projects.
