We would like to inform you about two simultaneous exhibition projects of Petra Varl, an artist taking part in SCCA-Ljubljana project Internet Portfolio.

Petra Varl works as a visual artist in the area of drawing, graphic arts, painting, illustration and installations in galleries, public and private spaces.

In Maribor she is preparing two exhibitions, one in Maribor Art Gallery and the other in Kibela Gallery.

Petra VarlOn the exhibition Drawing in Maribor Art Gallery Petra Varl presents a series of ink drawings on paper and leads us back to the important story of her work from her creative beginnings onwards. With her drawing and simple motifs of everyday life she builds an intimate and at the same time familiar universe: the meaning of a woman and her role, relationships, the tearing down of clichés, and the antagonism of old and new. The fragments create a parallel story in which the individual, appearing in diverse roles at the same time, can find him/herself. The curator is Andreja Borin, UGM collection curator. The exhibition will be on view until February 28.

Petra VarlThe exhibition in the Maribor Art Gallery will be followed by the exhibition Signs in the Gallery Kibela. The occasion will also celebrate the 11th anniversary of the operation of Kibela, space for art. The exhibition will be on view until February 13.

You are kindly invited to attend the openings on January 28, at 7pm in the Maribor Art Gallery and at 8 in the Kibela Gallery.
