For the second Video Evening with DIVA Station this year at the Photon Gallery we have invited the artist Zvonka T Simčič. She will present her artistic practice involving a variety of video uses from video poetry and performance to video installations and video documentation. We will also talk abou ther community project House on the Hill and the ways of presenting (video) art outside the gallery space.
The event will be moderated by Vesna Bukovec, a member of DIVA Station team, who in the past years, together with Metka Zupanič (Zavod Kolektiva), organized a series of Video Evening events at the Photon Gallery.
Zvonka T Simčič is an intermedia and video artist living in Slovenia. All of her works are strongly connected to the social space she inhabits. In her new media works, she becomes a “live” actor – a performer. In 2001, she founded the CrossCommunityCreation Institute for the production of contemporary art and social research projects. For the last five years, she has been developing the House on the Hill project, where she explores contemporary art in connection with cultural and natural heritage.
