Film screening and presentation, FeKK

Slovenian Cinematheque, Miklošičeva cesta 28, Ljubljana

During the 6. FeKK Short Film Festival in Ljubljana, SCCA prepared a screening of the film V temi (In the Dark, Žarko Lužnik, 1979) in the Slovenian Cinematheque, followed by a presentation by Rok Kajzer Nagode on the digitisation and restoration of this film. The event highlights the broader issue of inappropriate and slow archiving of Slovenian cultural heritage, and is part of the European project Not Yet Written Stories – Women Artists’ Archives Online (2020–2021), which focuses on women artists who have often been overlooked in the history of contemporary art.

Project Not Yet Written Stories is managed by the Arton Foundation in Warsaw, and in addition to the SCCA-Ljubljana, the Zagreb Office for Photography and the Riga Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art are involved. Each partner organization will focus the research on female artists who have often been overlooked in the history of contemporary art.

DIVA Station is a physical and web archive of video art which is being developed since 2005 at SCCA-Ljubljana with the intent to research, document, present and archive video/media art and experimental film.

The Kraken Short Film Promotion Society strives to promote short film as an independent film form and to spread film culture in the broadest sense. The main project of the Kraken association is FeKK – a short film festival in Ljubljana, which will have its sixth edition in 2020.
